Basic information
Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), is a white or light yellow, odorless, non-toxic fibrous or powdered solid, prepared from alkaline cellulose and ethylene oxide (or chloroethanol) by etherification reaction, is a non-ionic soluble cellulose ether. Because HEC has good thickening, suspension, dispersion, emulsification, bonding, film forming, water protection and provide protective colloid and other properties, it has been widely used in oil mining, coating, construction, textile, paper and polymer polymerization.

Product feature
1. HEC is soluble in cold and hot water, and it has a wide range of solubility and viscosity characteristics
2. High temperature or boiling does not precipitate, and non-hot gel.
3. Itself non-ionic type can coexist with a wide range of other water-soluble polymers, surface active agents, salts, is an excellent colloidal thickener containing high concentration dielectric solution;
4. Good water retention capacity, with good flow adjustability;
5. The best protection of colloids
Main uses
Water based paint: water based paint
HS hydroxyethyl cellulose plays an important role in emulsification, dispersion, stability and water retention of water-based coatings. It is characterized by remarkable thickening effect, good color rendering, film forming and storage stability.
Oil drilling:
It is an emulsifier and fluid loss reducer for water-based kill and completion fluids, and has a significant thickening effect in saltwater drilling fluids. It can also be used as a fluid loss control agent for concrete in oil and gas Wells. It can chemically crosslink with a variety of metals to form colloids.
Daily chemicals:
Because the non-Shang Zi-type hydroxyethyl cellulose is superior to Shang Zi-type CMC in terms of film formation, stability, moisture and pH stability, its application scope in the field of daily chemical has been expanding, and it has been widely used in detergents, hand sanitizers, hair care shampoos, hair creams, nutritional lotions, fats, creams, creams and other products.
Industrial grade:
Hydroxyethyl cellulose is used as a sizing agent, binder, thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer in textiles for electrical and light industry. Due to the presence of hydrophilic hydroxyethyl in the molecule, it is a non-ionic cellulose ether, soluble in cold and hot water, it has a pH range of 6.5 to 8.5 heat stable aqueous solution, HEC has a variety of solubility, varying with the substitution of waste, they can not dissolve most organic solvents, Its many beneficial properties include increment, suspension, adhesion, emulsification, dispersion, moisturizing, etc. It has the ability to prepare for a variety of viscosity ranges. For dielectrics, it has a special ability to dissolve salt, and its aqueous solution can withstand salt concentrations up to a certain point, while still remaining stable.
