Chemical Property
1、Appearance: White or white-like powder
2、Granularity: the passing rate is more than 98.5% for 100 mesh, 100% for 80 mesh and the special size is 40-60 mesh.
3、Carbonization temperature is 280-300 ℃.
4、Apparent density is 0.25-0.70g/cm(usually is about 0.5g/cm) and it is 1.26-1.31 in proportion.
5、Color change temperature is 190-200℃.
6、Surface tension: 42-56dyn/cm in 2% aqueous solution.
7、Solubility: Soluble in water and some solvents, such as appropriate proportion of ethanol/water, propanol/water, etc. Aqueous solution has surface activity. High transparency, stable performance, different specifications of the product gel temperature is different, the solubility changes with the viscosity, the lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility, the performance of different specifications of HPMC has a certain difference, HPMC dissolution in water is not affected by pH value.
8、The surface activity of HPMC decreases with the decrease of methoxy content, the increase of gel point, the decrease of water solubility and the decrease of water solubility.

Product Feature
Salt resistance: HPMC is a non-ionic cellulose ether, and is not a polyelectrolyte, so in the presence of metal salts or organic electrolytes, it is relatively stable in aqueous solutions, but excessive addition of electrolytes can cause gel and precipitation.
Surface activity: HPMC aqueous solutions have surface active functions and can be used as colloidal protectants, emulsifiers and dispersants.
Hot gel: When HPMC aqueous solution is heated to a certain temperature, it becomes opaque, gels, and forms precipitation, but when it is continuously cooled, it returns to the original solution state, and the temperature of this gel and precipitation mainly depends on their type, concentration and heating rate
Ph-stability: The viscosity of HPMC aqueous solutions is almost unaffected by acids or bases, and the PH value is relatively stable in the range of 3.0-11.0
Water retention: HPMC is an efficient water retention agent, which has a wide range of applications in ceramics, building materials and many other aspects.
Adhesion: HPMC as a high performance binder, used in pigment, paper, tobacco products and ceramic products.
Main Uses
Building materials industry:
As a water-retaining agent and retarding agent of cement mortar, mortar has pumpability. Apply mortar, plaster, putty powder or other building materials as adhesives to improve spreadability and extend operating time. Used to paste ceramic tile, marble, plastic decoration, paste enhancer, can also reduce the amount of cement. HPMC water retention performance makes the paste after application will not dry too fast and crack, enhance the strength after hardening.
Daily chemical washing industry:
Daily chemical products can play a good thickening effect and good transparency. It can also play a certain role in stabilizing and dispersing materials
Ceramics industry:
Widely used as adhesives in the manufacture of ceramic products.
Coating industry:
As a thickener, dispersant and stabilizer in the coating industry, it has a good compatibility in water or organic solvents. It can also be a paint stripper.
